I hesitate to introduce the word “complicated” when speaking about grief, because honestly -isn’t all grief complicated? Even the feeling or emotion of grief itself. It’s not just one emotion, but instead an entire set of emotions that can include anything like anger, guilt, exhaustion, resentment, worry…the list goes on and on.
But it’s important to talk about complicated grief because there comes a point where a lot of grievers wonder if they’re doing it wrong. Or perhaps that their emotions don’t seem to fit in the same mold as others.
There are a number of different ways that grief can be complicated and we’ll try to cover them all throughout the course of this one session self-study.
