    Hell0, My name is Steve.

In April 2018 I lost my Mother who smoked for 62 years; the destruction of 62 years of that poison played itself out …

One month later in May 2018, I lost my Father to lung cancer with metastasis to the brain.

Then on July 1st 2018 I lost my Wife to stage 4 metastatic stomach cancer, she was my world....

To say I have been is shock is an understatement. This has all been overwhelming. I am doing my very best to cope with this amount of tragedy.

    Thank You for listening.

Very sorry to hear of your losses. I hope you find this site helpful - even if just to vent.

I can relate to Steve R. I lost my husband Dec 2017 after 49 years of marriage, 3 months later, I lost my neighbor and best friend of 32 years. As couples, we did everything together. Friday night dinners, cards, travel, raised our kids and watched our grands grow up together. Then last week, 5 days before the 1 year anniversary of my hubby's passing, I lost my sister. She was an extension of me. Just when I think I'm taking a step forward, I get slammed. Losing my sister has really thrown me. Trying to put myself back together again. So in less then a year, I lost the 3 people I talked to everyday. The 3 people I always relied on. Too much grief in too short a time.

    I'm sorry for your loss..

I do understand to some extent how you're feeling.

Lost my dad in march 2018 from stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer he battled for 25 yrs.

Lost a good family friend who was killed in his house from a fire 6 months later.

And now in may 2019 my husband.

I don't know and wouldn't tell you how you feel; but it feels like I'm the last person on earth even though I see people everywhere. Very surreal, and then omg I just noticed your name ( not your fault) and a trigger electrical shock like electrical shock therapy. Do you feel like your identity was wiped clean that you're not really sure what you like what to do?

And I don't know if it's okay to ask questions or if this will trigger you but did you and your wife have any children? 18 years it's not short at all I was married 21 and it seems like my entire lifetime.

Shut up and don't apologize for grieving. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Shalom

    Hello Steve,

Almost one year later, and I'm wondering how you are doing? Let us know, if you care to. I am new here, not sure what to post, but thought maybe I would feel better if I reached out to someone else instead of going down the same road I've been going down...

Hello Steve. I lost my Mom last March (2019) on the 18th and my husband exactly one week later on the 25th. They both had the same exact stroke. My Mom survived about 6 weeks and just gave up. My husband had a stroke at home and was recovering very well and was in rehab but had another fatal stroke almost 2 weeks later. It's been a difficult year to say the least and tomorrow is the first anniversary of my husbands death. I was going to go visit my son out of town but now with the corona virus out there, I'm not able to go. I'm going to call my husbands family and talk about funny happy things they remember about him to help me get through the day. This is my first time posting and I hope you are doing well.

Hi Steve, coping with multiple losses can be difficult, for me it was within the span of two years that I lost my grandma, my uncle, my mom, on top of having to be there for my best friend who lost her dad, my sister in law who lost her dad, two friends who had death by suicide, and two co-workers that overdosed. All of them within months of each other starting with my grandma in Feb, of 2015 ending in June of 2016 with Harold who overdosed on cocaine. I felt like I could not catch my breath, like my world was spinning out of control. I've never been married so I can't relate to how much that must hurt to lose a partner. My father is still alive but he is having a down hill battle right now not sure how much longer he will be alive. What I know is death is common to all, even if it comes in different forms we are not alone in our grief. I truly hope you find a way to calm the overwhelming feelings and I am sorry for your losses it is not fun or recommended, but we do our best when situations change.
