April 9, 2019, was the worst day of my life. I lost my best friend and soulmate and husband in a tragic car accident. The person driving at the time was distracted driving, and she lost control of our vehicle. In the first flip of the SUV, something punctured Jeremy's skull and brain. He had been asleep, and had no idea what happened. The driver was ejected from through the windshield, and she also passed.

Dear Penny, I am very sorry to hear about the loss you had. My husband died about 14 months ago and I know what you are going through. The first month is a blur and you’re in shock. By now the reality might be starting to hit you. Just know that slowly over time you will move into an easier existence than right now. It isn’t the same as your life was, but you’ll be able to start to function. It was at least good that you’re husband didn’t know what happened. Try writing letters to him or talking to him when you’re alone. That helps me. I wish you well.

Thank you for your kind words. I thought I was coming undone when I sobbed my heart out for the first time, yesterday. It's nice to know that what I'm going through is normal.
