It is too loud and raucous!

Karen, I love your unique expressions,
like "yap" and "hum". Linda would've
loved you as much as I do. Lou

I think it was Vana that Jack's Dad like to see. I think that was her name. He was a woman looker.

    Excellent advice, Bernadine. My upstairs
    neighbors saw my minimalist apartment,
without a TV, and clutter, and said I was
living a Zen like existence. I feel calmer,
that way, as I deal with the occasional
    visits from Mr. Grief. Lou

My world is full of mess and clutter. Got rid of 90% of my stuff but I still have way too much

You're a riot, Karen! Your pithy words
always give me a lift. I quote your Mr. Grief comment, often. Lou

You are a crack up and I love you to. Anyone who makes me laugh is on my best seller's list.

Yes, Vanna White! All she had to do was
walk back & forth, in stylish gowns, and
put up the letters, with a big smile on her
face. Linda would catch me looking at a
"looker" like her, a bit too long, and ask
sarcastically. " get a good look?". Lou

My Jack always said, "I can look". I would say look all you want to, but your stuck with me. He would laugh and say, "You are the only woman I want to be stuck with".
Linda's comment "get a good look" I like that, rally on Linda.

She was a trip. I can finally laugh about
some of the things she said, and the
looks she gave me. I'm sitting in my
cafe at the bar, waiting for a friend. It's
a lively, fun crowd , with 3 cowboy
country music singers. Great way to
start the Fourth. Got a warm hello from
the staff.I'm cool about meeting a
woman. My friend whose soulmate died
3 years ago, isn't as cool, and I tell him not
to have his tongue hanging out! Lou

Can I join you, sounds like a great send off for the 4th. Yes, no tongue hanging out, good advice. I'm laughing again.
I know you don't wear straw hats and wear those baseball hats, but I hope you don't turn it around backwards like I see guys do. Do you? If so, crap it for meeting a lady. Ha!

    Don't worry, Karen, I've never worn a
back turned baseball cap. I'm not a
sports fanatic, so I don't wear Boston
    sports team hats & shirts. I don't wear a
hat inside, but when I walk outside on the
Neck, I support the local businesses &
wear caps , with an American Flag, or our
town logo. They have mesh in the back,
to keep cool. The band was great tonight.
I loved hearing the songs & seeing the
guys with cowboy hats, playing guitar.
2 women danced joyously. My friend got
bored bc he didn't meet anyone, so he
drove to a bar in the nearby city. I was
content to come home, bc I plan to go
again at lunchtime tomorrow, and meet
my drummer friend , who's married and
more relaxed. We have a lot of laughs,
and he's introduced me to other musicians.
Wish you, Bernadine, and others, could
    join me! Lou

Thank you, Karen. Are you & your daughter doing anything special on the
Fourth? About to go to bed. "Talk"
tomorrow. Hope for a peaceful sleep for
    both of us.......Lou

You will get this tomorrow AM if not during the night. I hope you sleep better.
Tomorrow I will be going with my daughter for a new kitty for her, not me. Then tomorrow afternoon off to a winery event with our neighbors.
On the 4th celebrating the 4th. Maybe BBQ something. How about you? I'm feeling better with your laughs. Nancy and I are in contact often. What a miracle.

Karen. woke up from dream at 4am, my
time, and read your message. Thanks. My dream was about last night. I was drinking
a beer with my friend. So glad I didn't. I don't want to go down that road again. It's
good that you can go to a winery, and it's
not a problem. I like your plans. The friend, who's like a daughter, had a party
on the Fourth last year. It's my birthday,
so her father, my age, made a gluten
free chocolate cake. He has Celiac, too ,
so I feel safe eating there! They will
probably have a party again this year, but
I didn't ask, bc I'm not as needy. I will
probably see the parade on the Fourth,
at 6pm. It goes by the Neck. So happy aboutyou & Nancy. My miracle is with Deb &,
    Gary........... Lou

Janet and I lived alone together in a remote cabin in thick woods that I built forty years ago on a three-acre lake carved out from a deep ravine. She was an artist, a ceramics sculptress, a free spirit, and my life. Her most treasured painting is of the cabin from the vantage point at the tip of a small peninsula jutting out into the lake where her gravestone and ashes lie. Knowing her days were few, her last work was this poem entitled "Safe in Your Heart".

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
My spirit lives on with no tearful goodbye.
I am the gusts of wind that blow.
I am the flight of birds to and fro.
I am the diamonds on the ripples below.
I am the colors of the sunset's glow.
I am the dazzle of the night's starry show.
I am the sounds of nature's hello.
I am safe in your heart and that comforts me so.
And when some day it is your time to go,
Come into my arms at the place we both know.

    Jeff, your story of your
    incredible wife, Janet, her death,
and her poem/ premonition about her death, is truly
heartbreaking. I see in your info
that you're in your 70s like I am,
and live in Texas. I live on the
    northern coast of Massachusetts.
My wife of 25 years, Linda, died
    suddenly, at 68, 4 & a half years
ago. I hope you stay on Grief in
Common ( GIC). Sue , from
South Africa, just joined, and I
    hope Deejay . from Australia,
    will, as well. Lou
