Dear Helena, Thank you so much for your warm reply . And it was so good for the girls and I to get out of the house for most of the day. And I totally agree that it is important for us to get something to do. And I'm so sorry that last week you had a very painful full time feeling sorry for yourself. My heart goes out to you!! And I'm so thankful that we both have our friends the TGW that are so supportive, as well as so kind and empathetic. And they do know our grief and they know how devastatingly painful it is!! And anytime we can break free of Mr. Grief is a blessing! And I'm so glad that you feel better now! And I'm wishing you peaceful days, as well as keeping you in my thoughts, along with sending you cyber hugs. Take care always,
    Debra

Great to hear from you, Debra. Just
sitting down to dinner. I like Amy's
frozen gluten free dinners, bc I can put
them in the oven for 40 or 50 min. No
fuss, no mess. I don't really cook. Do you
cook for your daughters? I'm happy you're
getting outside with them. Funny that you
want it to be cooler, and I want it to be
warmer! We have longer days, with more
light, now, at least. Have a relaxing
evening. TGW, including you , were very
kind to me today, and I feel blessed. Lou

Alex, it's so wonderful to see you on here
tonight. I worry about people when they
don't reply. "Talking" with TGW on GIC,
was my salvation today, and I didn't feel so
alone. Hope you sleep well. Lou

Thank you so much, Lou. And it's great to hear from you also. And I'm so glad that you enjoy Amy's frozen gluten free dinners, they are convenient, and healthy, and that they are ready to eat in under an hour is an added plus. And I do cook for my daughters' and thankfully they like vegetables and fruits a lot, and that's definitely a good thing. And thank you so much for saying you're happy that I was getting outside with them. I think it's very important for us to get out every day. And I do want it to be cooler, because the weather here in the Spring and Summer gets way too hot! Every Summer it has reached over 100 degrees, which is unbearable. . .
And I'm thinking that you may want it to be warmer because the Winter there was really cold? And it is good that you have longer days with more light, that way if you go out later on in the day, you have more time before it gets dark. And so far my evening is going well, thank you, and I'm planning on taking some time to relax after I clean up the kitchen. And I hope you have a relaxing evening also. And I'm so glad that TGW were very kind to you, and you feel blessed. And I feel blessed as well to have TGW like yourself who are very kind, supportive, and empathetic. And I always want you and everyone here to have peaceful days. And I am keeping you in my thoughts. Take care always

Perfect timing, Debra. I've been having
dinner later, but I still like to be in bed at
    10pm. my time, & wake up around 6am. I
sleep better than I used to. The winter
cold seemed endless. There was a chilly
wind today, so I came home right after
the cafe. As Karen said, no place is
perfect. It gets very cold here, but
unbearably hot there. If I had money. I'd
be here in the summer, my favorite
season, bc it's lively with both tourists &
locals and a lot to do, and I'd be in Florida
for the winter. Since I can't do that, I will
enjoy the 4 seasons. Some winter days
are sunny & not that bad. Lou

Lou, I'm with you. I would like summers by the coast, winters are okay here in Calif. But, summers yikes.

Thank you, Lou. And It is so good that you still like to be in bed by 10pm your time, and waking up at 6, that's still a full 8 hours of sleep

Thank you, Lou. And I'm just picking up where I left off, because my first message got cut off... and going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 6 is a full 8 hours of sleep, and it's so good that you sleep better than you used to. I still struggle with not being able to get enough sleep,
And I can relate to you feeling like the winter cold was seeming endless, as our Winters in Illinois felt the same way. And it's also good that you did get out today. I feel like my daughters and I need to get out every day, even if it's just to go to the store or out to lunch. And I totally agree with Karen that no place is perfect. And although it does get very cold there, it gets unbearably hot here, and every single Summer it reaches over 100 degrees. Like I always say, they call it Bakersfield, because it feels like you are being baked!!
And I can understand why you feel like if you could, you would be there in the Summer, and in Florida for the Winter, and I'm so glad that you will enjoy the four seasons, and that some Winter days aren't that bad. And I'm planning to do some fun activities with the kids during their Summer break from school. And I'm hoping that you will have peaceful days coming up throughout the week, and you will enjoy your time with friends as well as on your walks in nature.

Thank you , Debra, I did go to sleep at 10,
before your last text. But, I can't say I always get a full 8 hours of sleep. When I
was young, in college, I could be out in the
evening, drinking beers with my friends,
stay out late, & sleep late, on a Sat or Sun.
I would go to the bathroom maybe once in
the night. Glad I had that fun then. Now
that I'm "old" , I don't drink alcohol anymore, but have to go to the bathroom
a few times in the night. I know this is a
TMI, but some of the older GW can relate.
Last night, I had a few cups of herbal tea,
which put me to sleep, but, then had to go
to the bathroom more frequently. I also had some weird dreams. So, I felt sleepy at
6am today, and went back to sleep until
7:30am. It's not exact, but it all balances
out. Being retired, I'm thankful that I never
have to use an alarm clock . Glad you're
going out. When it hits 100 degrees, can you walk in a mall? I remember suggesting
that to Chad, who lives in hot Texas. I forgot that you lived in Illinois, where
George lives. He says the cold winters
    suck! Lou

Good morning Lou, and thank you so much for your warm reply. And I totally understand what you mean. And although I love herbal teas, both hot and iced, and drinking them before going to sleep does make for a night in which you have to go to the bathroom more frequently. And it's good that you were able to get back to sleep when you woke up after having those weird dreams, and that even though it isn't exact, it all balances out. And I know some people get into a pattern of getting up around a certain time then their "Body clock" is set, and they don't need an alarm clock. And it's like that for me. No matter what time I go to sleep, I usually get up around the same time each day, and so it's quite rare for me to get an actual full night's sleep. And thank you so much for saying you're glad we have been going out. I feel like it's imperative to get out every day, because otherwise it would be even harder for us to get through each day.
And thankfully there is a mall not too far from here, and it is a great idea to walk through the mall during those 100 degree days, and we have done that before. And hopefully Chad will do that also. I know how hot it is in Texas, as my brother lives over there in Greenville. And although I do prefer colder weather over hot weather, I have to agree with George, in that the winters in Illinois SUCK!! Because it gets way too cold!! And I hope you will have a good, peaceful day today. And I'm keeping you in my thoughts. Take care always,
    Debra

Thank you, Alex. As you can see in my
reply to Debra, my sleep is a fickle thing.
Hope you are able to get some rest &
sleep. Right after Linda died, that was
very hard for me to do. Hope you can get
outside for walks in nature. Do you live
near the beach? If you do, that's a great
    place to walk. Lou

Debra, thanks for your detailed note. Heard that it's really good to wake up the same
time every morning for your circadian
rhythm, as Bernadine pointed out. I blew
it today, but I usually wake up between
6&6:30am. Glad you have a mall! Good to
keep moving , to avoid some illnesses &
premature aging. I plan to walk today, as
usual: high 40s, but sun & clear blue skies.
As Robin says , from Long Island, NY,
"I'll take it!!". Have a good one. Lou

    Good morning, Alex
And I hope you will have a peaceful day today. I have found that keeping myself and the kids occupied is necessary every day. Otherwise, getting through each day would be so much harder. So this morning after they finish their online schoolwork, we are going to go out to lunch later on, and then do some shopping. And I'm keeping you in my thoughts. Take care always, Debra

You're welcome, Lou. It's always great, and I always enjoy corresponding with you. And I have to agree with Bernadine in that it's really good for your circadian rhythm to wake up at the same time every day. And I'm so glad that although you usually wake up between 6 & 6:30, you were able to get that nap.
And thank you so much for saying you're glad we have a mall. I totally agree, it is good to keep moving to avoid some illnesses and premature aging. And I feel like it also is good emotionally to help keep stress under control. And I'm so glad that you plan on walking today. And although it 's in the 40's, it's good that it is still sunny and clear blue skies. And I would "take it!!" also. And I'm thinking today will be a good one, thank you so much. And I'm hoping your day as well as your evening will be good.

Good morning Lou, Yes, sleep these days is a fickle thing! Hope tonight is a bit more peaceful for you. I live about 40 min from the beach. Took a drive this last Saturday with my son and got a chance to see the beauty of the coast. My arthritis has flared up quite a bit these months with all the stress I think so it has been hard to walk to much and do things around the house. I have found a new doctor close to me and will see him today. Hopefully I will get some relief.
Thinking of you and hope you have a good day.

Good morning Debra. Glad to hear that you are keeping busy and getting out. How old are your girls? i’m sure it will be great to do some shopping and have a nice lunch out. You are right, getting out and keeping busy is important. It helps deflect out thoughts a bit and offers some distraction.
Keeping you in my thoughts today also.

Thank you, Alex. My girls are 17 and 14 years old. And one of the advantages of them doing online school is that we have the flexibility of being able to go out every day, and they only have to go down to the school once a week to take tests.
And it is great to go out shopping and have a nice lunch, and tomorrow afternoon we will go roller skating. And I agree that it is important to keep busy, because it does help deflect our thoughts a bit and offers some distraction. And thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts as well. It is so good to have empathetic and supportive friends!
