    Gary,

    Thank you so much for helping to spice up our messages. I'm tired of living in a way too beige world, (thanks again Lou, for sharing one of Linda's sayings, that I had to adopt, SCFED!!!) With my foggy widow brain, it might be a little challenging for me to remember SCFED!!!, but, and this is another one of those really BIG!!! BUTS!!!, I'm going to try!!!, SCFED!!!

    As always, sending you lots of hugs and love, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Helena,

    We can mix it up a bit, using TUTTAM sometimes, and SCFED other times. Variety is the spice of life, lol...

    As always, sending you, Yogi and Sami, lots of hugs and love, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Helena,

    I think this is one of the most beautiful things you've written. I need a tissue... You are changing in so many positive ways..., morphing into a new version of yourself, a much stronger version, than you were just a short time ago... I know Geoff would be so very proud of you... The secret to healing is being able to fully grieve..., to confront all the pain head on..., to let those tears flow...

    But, and this is another one of those really BIG!!! BUTS!!!, as Gary so wisely said, and I can't stop saying, "The secret to life is everything in moderation." Cry when you need to, but when you're able to, kick the F*CK out of Mr. Grief, escape from all this total heartbreak for awhile... Take a walk, draw, listen to music, etc, etc., etc, try to enjoy those breaks to the absolute max... S L O W L Y, you'll begin to win more battles than you lose with Mr. Grief, knocking him unconscious for longer and longer periods of time. This IS!!! healing!!!, TUTTAM!!! (tossed it in just for you). You ARE!!! healing!!! You are a true GW!!!, SCFED!!! (Variety is the spice of life.)

    Life will always be so very bittersweet, but, and this is the last BIG!!! BUT!!! for now, even in a bittersweet world, there are still many wonderful moments ahead of us.

    As always, sending you, Yogi and Sami, lots of hugs and love, wishing you peace, all of us peace. DEB

    Helena, your 2 quotations came at a
    perfect time. I don't believe in coincidences. Since the death of my
    wife, Linda, I have felt her presence and
    have renewed my faith in God. At her
    small funeral 3 & a half years ago, the
    minister recited my favorite Psalm 23.
    I am trying to remain calm this morning,
    bc I lost my wallet yesterday. I was at the
    hospital, where I always feel vulnerable &
    alone, without Linda by my side. In fact,
    when I was waiting in the small lab room,
    I teared up. I told both the kind nurse, &
    doctor about my bereavement. Now, I
    have to notify all my contacts which were
    in my wallet. It's a nightmare. But, I have
    to put it in perspective. This nightmare
    doesn't come close to seeing Linda die in
    front of me. I hope her spirit , and the
    spirit of God, will guide me today. Thank
    you for listening, Helena. Lou

    Oh Lou, there are still many kind, honest, caring people
    In the world, praying you will get your wallet back real
    soon, did you call places you were at yesterday to see if
    anyone turned it in?
    Amen Psalms 23.
    Sending you big hug, prayers.
    God Bless You, Patti

    A PSALM OF LIFE by Henry Wadsworth Longgellow

    Tell me no, in mournful numbers,
    Life is but an empty dream!
    For the soul is dead that slumbers,
    An things are not what they seem

    Life is real! is earnest!
    And the grave is not its goal;
    Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
    Was not spoken of the soul.

    Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
    Is our destined end or way;
    But to act, that each to-morrow
    Find us farther than to-day.

    Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
    And our hearts, though stout and brave,
    Still, like muffled drums, are beating
    Funeral marches to the grave.

    In the world's broad field of battle,
    In the bivouac of Life,
    Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
    Be a hero in the strife!

    Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
    Let the dead Past bury its dead!
    Act, - act in the living Present!
    Heart within, and God o'erhead!

    Lives of great men all remind us
    We can make our lives sublime,
    And, departing, leave behind us
    Footprints on the sands of time;

    Footprints, that perhaps another,
    Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
    A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
    Seeing, shall take heart again.

    Let us, then, be up and doing,
    With a heart for any fate;
    Still achieving, still pursuing,
    Learn to labor and to wait.
