My husband passed away on 8/6/17. He had been sick for a long time with a heart condition and then we found out he had kidney disease. Before all this he had throat cancer in 2005. All the chemo drugs messed up his body and he was never the same. Like I have been reading on this website, the nights and weekends are the hardest to cope with. It has only been 5 months. I am seeing a grief counselor to help with my new life that I hate. Most of the grief support groups in my area are booked until the spring. Don't even know if I want to be in a face to face group. I have been reading a lot of books on grief support that have helped some. No one grieves in a set time frame. Realizing that this is OK. Friends are helpful, but no one shares your pain unless you have witnessed this new life.
